All you need is a watch with a second hand. Take your pulse between meals, several times, until you know what your “normal” pulse is. The easiest way is to feel about an inch below your jaw on the right side of your neck. Count the number of pulses for 15 seconds and multiply by 4. This is your resting pulse rate.
Then start taking your pulse again 15 minutes after a meal or snack. Be sure you don’t exercise before taking your pulse, including climbing stairs. If your pulse rate increases after a particular food, you will know that you are sensitive to that food. You immune system regards that food as a “foreign” element and is fighting back by having an inflammatory response. Isolate those foods, and eliminate them until you have detoxed.
One way that you will know that you are getting healthier is when you can gradually re-introduce those foods that you were sensitive to, and not get the increased pulse rate.
Common food sensitivities include: tomatoes, wheat, milk products (especially pasteurized milk), corn, eggs, coffee and soy. However your body may have other hidden sensitivities that are compromising your health and immune system and keeping you from achieving your ideal weight.
